Quality & Food Safety Policy

STELIOS KANAKIS S.A., a member of ORKLA FOOD INGREDIENS group, is committed to responding responsibly and consistently to customer and legal requirements by offering high-quality and safe products that meet modern market and consumer needs.
The company is committed to and aims at offering products that:

  • Fully comply with current European and national legislation, regulations, and standards,
  • Are suitable, safe, authentic, and in line with specified requirements,
  • Meet the expectations and requirements of customers and consumers.

Quality and food safety are core pillars of the company’s operation and are integrated into every aspect of its activities—from supplier selection to final product distribution. The company implements:

  • A Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001,
  • A Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in accordance with ISO 22000, which addresses all potential risks to ensure the hygiene and safety of the products it distributes.

These systems apply to all the company’s products—raw materials for confectionery, bakery, and ice cream—which are stored at its facilities in Acharnes, Athens and distributed under full control.

STELIOS KANAKIS S.A. adopts the Quality and Food Safety Policy of ORKLA FOOD INGREDIENS (OFI). It maintains a non-negotiable stance on food quality and safety, continuously strengthening its quality and safety culture and extending it across all its operations.

To support the OFI Policy for Food Safety and Quality the company commits to implement the Orkla Food Safety Standard (OFSS).

 

The company systematically monitors progress in the following objectives:

  • Continuous improvement in customer satisfaction,
  • Sales growth and client base expansion,
  • Reduction in quality complaints and zero product recalls.

To monitor these objectives Quality Indicators are used, whose progress is tracked and reported to Management through the annual QMS Reviews.

The success of the Quality & Food Safety Policy is based on three key pillars:

  1. Compliance with and continuous improvement of the Quality & Food Safety System,
  2. Customer satisfaction,
  3. Active participation and contribution of all staff in achieving the above.

The Management of STELIOS KANAKIS S.A. recognizes that the successful implementation of the policy depends on investing in human and technical resources and is committed to continuously supporting and upgrading the management systems.
